Farrah Leni was an American model, actress as well as an artist. The role she played in the film 'The Apostle,' made her a star. The beginning of her career was at Corpus Christi in Texas. She has also been in television shows such as I Dream of Jeannie and The Flying Nun. Her first film appearance was a role as a support in a French film titled 'Love Is a Funny Things.' The film became famous for her iconic red swimsuit poster, which later became the top-selling pin-up poster ever. As she grew older her appearances continued in popular TV series and movies which established her position as a top sex icon in the entertainment industry. Her role as a private detective she played in the crime drama Charlie's Angels was highly praised. The series followed the adventures of three women who worked in the Los Angeles private detective firm. In addition to playing glamorous characters, she's also known for her dramatic performances including the part as a battered wife as seen in the TV film "The Burning Bed'. She was listed at number 26 on TV Guide's ranking of "50 most famous TV celebrities of all time'. In 1989, at age 59, she was found to be being diagnosed with anal cancer. She passed away three years later.
